BIG NEWS, Everyone! This is our 100th post! Pas de Deux blog is growing up!
With Thanksgiving lying ahead and 99 posts behind us, this is a great to time reflect on what I’m thankful for. I am constantly inspired by the originality and creativity of other bloggers, both inside and outside the realm of food. Scrolling through my Reader opens up a whole new world of possibilities!
Thank you, Blog World for…
…Motivating me to be social.
Many people outside this community think bloggers blog instead of having face-to-face relationships. In my experience, that is not the case.
Over the summer, I needed a light read so I picked up MWF Seeking BFF. I loved it! The author, Rachel Bertsche, the perfect balance of funny anecdotes, heartfelt confessions, and facts and research. I learned a lot about the science of friendship while reading the book, and I also laughed. A lot. Since my breakup, I’ve been reading Rachel’s blog more frequently. I’ve realized in the past few weeks how important it is to have good girlfriends. I had allowed my social circle to be centered around one guy, and since he left, I’ve been floundering. Rachel inspires me to call up those girls that I’ve been saying I should get coffee with for months, and actually DO IT. I usually wait for someone else to make the first move, in romantic relationships as well as friendships, and reading MWF Seeking BFF makes me realize that if we all wait for someone to make a move, we’ll be at a permanent standstill. Who wants that? If you haven’t read this blog or book, do it! You’ll love it.
…Providing amazing DIY ideas.
I read about exciting DIY projects daily, but the one at the top of my list is Homemade Mascara, posted by Robin at Thank Your Body. I wear a lot of mascara. My sisters used to tease me when I was in high school because I spent so long perfecting my lashes. My eyes are very sensitive, and are much happier and healthier if I leave my lashes bare. Homemade mascara may be the secret to having both happy eyes and beautiful lashes. There are a lot of scary chemicals in commercial mascaras, that I am excited to get away from! I can’t wait to try this!
…Drawing me in.
The first food blog I read was Smitten Kitchen. I thank Deb Perelman, author, for hooking me with her wonderful recipes and beautiful photos. I probably wouldn’t have agreed to this venture with Lindsey had I not been smitten with Smitten Kitchen! Even though I read a wide variety of blogs now, Deb provided my first introduction to the food blog world. She is doing a book signing this weekend at Omnivore Books, which I am so looking forward to!
Thank you for your support the past few months! We are so thankful for our readers and we hope you’ll stick with us for the next 100 posts!
